PROFESSIONAL CODE OF CONDUCT

Harlan & Hazel, LLC is committed to working with integrity and transparency.  I love what I do and I want my clients to be proud of their homes and enjoy the process of transformation.  As a DSA Certified Residential Designer I follow the DSA Code of Ethics, which can be found here.  

I would like to highlight and summarize some of the tenets that mean most to me, below:

• I  will continue to pursue my professional education, interests, and passions as an interior designer, always in the pursuit of knowledge and inspiration to meet the vision and sensibilities of my clients;

• I will always refer our clients to additional professionals within the trade when their expertise is necessary – recognizing the boundaries of my own scope and areas of expertise in order to provide clients with critical resources and opportunities;

• I will always be sure that any structural changes and building and zoning code matters are addressed by qualified professionals – engineers and construction teams, hired by the client;

• I will always maintain confidentiality in regards to my clients and hold close the fact that working in people’s homes is a privilege and significantly disrupts their daily lives;

• I will work hard to develop positive and professional relationships with all the partners/subcontractors involved in my client projects, and expect my clients to treat every individual working on their project with respect and timely payment;

• I respect my fellow designers in other firms and their work, and I believe that our industry is stronger when it is open and accessible to new and emerging designers.
